IVF dating is more precise than LMP dating. For Day 5 transfers: due date = transfer date + 261 days (38 weeks minus 5 days). For Day 3: transfer date + 263 days.

// Day 3 vs Day 5

Day 5 blastocysts are more developed and have higher implantation rates (50-60% vs 30-40%). They're 2 days further along at transfer, so the due date calculation adjusts for this.

// First Scan

Your fertility clinic will schedule a viability scan at 6-7 weeks (about 2-3 weeks after a positive test). This confirms heartbeat and may adjust the due date.

// Multiple Pregnancies

IVF has higher rates of twins/multiples. Multiple pregnancies often deliver earlier (37 weeks for twins, 34 weeks for triplets). Your OB will monitor closely.
